The long-awaited renovation of Hall 2 of the National History Museum is now a fact. One of the most exciting and impressive parts of the museum's exhibition, dedicated to the Bulgarian lands from the late 5th century BC to the 3rd century AD, welcomed its first visitors with an official ceremony.
Gold treasures, bronze helmets, coins, imposing statues, exquisite objects: Hall 2 tells the story of the flourishing of Thracian society and statehood, the Roman conquest of the lands south of the Danube, and how Pax Romana changed life there – from rapid urbanisation and the development of new industries to the spread of new religious cults.
The renewed Hall 2 effectively brings the past back to life with new lighting, modern display cases and information panels, and a clear conceptual structure. An inspiring space where the tale told by history and archaeology becomes alive and takes us on an inspiring journey.
